国防部：民进党当局甘当“棋子”终成“弃子”

MND: The DPP Authorities Willingly Serving as a Useful Fool Will Eventually Become an Abandoned Tool

7月30日下午，国防部举行例行记者会，国防部新闻发言人张晓刚大校答记者问。

记者：据报道，在“汉光41号”演习中，美方派出包括现役和退役军人在内的观摩团总数超过400人。请问发言人有何评论？

Question:  It's reported that the US side dispatched over 400 observers, including active and retired military officers, to the Han Kuang 41 exercise. May I have your comment on this?

张晓刚：台湾问题纯属中国内政，不容任何外来干涉。我们坚决反对任何形式的美台军事勾连。我们也正告民进党当局，甘当“棋子”终成“弃子”，妄图“倚美谋独”“以武拒统”注定失败。

Zhang Xiaogang: The Taiwan question is purely an internal affair of China, which brooks no foreign interference. We firmly oppose any forms of military collusion between the US and the Taiwan region. We warn the DPP authorities that a useful fool will eventually become an abandoned tool, and that soliciting US support for "Taiwan independence" and resisting reunification by force will not succeed.
